More search visibility.
A clearer view of what sells.
A premium hardware store needed its search work to support sales. Collection copy, product search listings, buying guides, and internal links were improved around existing demand. Google clicks are 86% above the pre-engagement comparison, while the latest monthly organic revenue is essentially flat.
Measured through September 2, 2026 for search and August 31 for monthly revenue. Observed results, with attribution limits stated below.
Search traffic and purchase intent were landing on different pages.
The store already attracted search visitors. Its buying guides could appear for product-family searches while the relevant collection still needed stronger visibility. More articles alone would not resolve that gap.
Give buyers a route to the collection
Contextual links were strengthened inside relevant guides, connecting material and finish research to the appropriate buying page.
Explain the product before the grid
Two collections received concise introductions above their product grids, clarifying construction, finish choices, and compatibility. Existing detailed information stayed available below.
Make the search promise accurate
Selected product titles and descriptions were revised around actual query language. Copy distinguished the material of the visible plate from the electrical device behind it, and kept certification claims specific to each product.
The gain is real. The comparison matters.
| Metric | Mar 2–29, 2026 Before engagement | Jul 9–Aug 5, 2026 Previous window | Aug 6–Sep 2, 2026 Latest window |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clicks | 264 | 512 | 492 |
| Impressions | 26,964 | 30,099 | 31,460 |
| Click-through rate | 0.98% | 1.70% | 1.56% |
| Average position | 17.82 | 12.44 | 12.16 |
The latest window contains 86.4% more clicks than the pre-engagement window, but 3.9% fewer than the immediately preceding 28 days. Average position improved across both comparisons. This describes the store's observed search performance across the engagement; it does not isolate the effect of an individual edit.
The sales evidence keeps the story honest.
From July to August, organic purchase revenue fell 0.7%. Organic transactions moved from 17 to 18, while organic sessions moved from 1,112 to 1,102. That is broadly stable revenue, not evidence of a conversion breakthrough.
Traffic quality needs its own read
Storewide sessions rose sharply as the Direct channel expanded, while storewide revenue fell. That change in traffic mix makes the storewide conversion rate a poor standalone measure of the edited organic pages.
Small samples limit the conclusion
The first collection's matched 18-day comparison showed more search clicks but no post-change purchases. Later product edits had only four days of finalized search data at this read. None had reached its primary 28-day checkpoint.
Preserve the test when evidence is thin
The final review left recent edits in place instead of selecting a supposed winner from a handful of visits. The saved baselines and change dates make a later comparison possible.
SEO delivery that can be traced back to a business decision.
The useful result is both improved visibility and a documented way to decide what deserves work next. Revenue evidence guided page selection; buyer questions guided copy; exact change dates and before-and-after records kept the evaluation readable.
Source and method: authenticated Google Search Console and GA4 reports reviewed September 5, 2026. Search uses finalized Web data and matching 28-day windows. Monthly revenue uses GA4 purchaseRevenue for Organic Search plus Organic Shopping, July 1–31 versus August 1–31, in the property's America/Los_Angeles timezone. Search clicks and analytics sessions measure different populations. No controlled experiment isolates causality. The business is anonymized; this page claims neither profit, incremental revenue caused by SEO, nor a proven conversion-rate lift.
